Fuengirola Old Town in the city center

Explore and enjoy Fuengirola Old Town in the city center

The Old Town of Fuengirola is a very small section of town and surrounded by the new section, beach area and walking promenades. You can easily explore the downtown area by walking around the area on foot or you can easily take local public transportation to see various parts of the city. Fuengirola’s center is fairly quiet during the daytime but comes alive late in the afternoon to evening, when locals and visitors love to get out and hang out in the main squares, bars and restaurants around the old section of town and the beach areas.

I love visiting historic centers of each town and Fuengirola’s Old Town appeal to visitors and locals with its large plazas filled with bars and restaurants, churches and historic places worth visiting in the city center.

More compact and easy to explore, the old town is well worth a visit. Fuengirola is an easy day trip experience, or even a weekend trip if you want to hang out at the beach, the Old Town or use Fuengirola as a base to explore other areas close by.

Fuengirola’s oldest sections are filled with mostly terraced homes with a few large squares, walking promenade and a large concentration of bars, restaurants and fun hang out spots in the area.

Originally Fuengirola used to be a small fishing village and some historic and other impressive monuments are still intact and worth a visit around town.
