I love visiting outdoor antique and flea markets on my visits and the Feira da Ladra in the Alfama district of Lisbon is expansive, colorful and filled with so many fantastic finds and collectibles worth exploring. Located in the area around the Campo de Santa Clara and close to the Pantheon, the Feira da Ladra is large and filled with permanent shops and stalls and popup tents selling a variety of cool things for sale.

The Feira da Ladra (Thieves’ Market) is located in Lisbon, Portugal, specifically at Campo de Santa Clara in the Alfama / São Vicente district.

Days and Opening Hours

The Feira da Ladra in Lisbon is open on Tuesdays and Saturdays from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Note: although the official hours go until 6 PM, many vendors start packing up around 2 PM.

How to get there

Getting There by Public Transit options below

  1. Metro
    • Take the Blue Line (Linha Azul) to Santa Apolónia station.
    • From Santa Apolónia, walk north — the market is just about 150 m uphill to Campo de Santa Clara.
  2. Tram
    • Tram 28 (the iconic Lisbon tram) stops near Igreja de São Vicente de Fora, which is right by the market.
    • Another tram option is Tram 12.
    • One common stop is called Arco de São Vicente.
  3. Bus
    • Bus 734 runs near Campo de Santa Clara.
    • There may also be other bus lines that serve the Alfama / São Vicente area.
  4. Taxi / Rideshare
    • If you prefer, you can take an Uber or taxi and ask to be dropped off at Campo de Santa Clara (near São Vicente de Fora / the National Pantheon).
    • Be prepared for a steep hill, since this area of Alfama is quite elevated.
  5. Walking
    • If you’re already exploring Alfama (e.g. National Pantheon, São Jorge Castle, etc.), walking to the market is very doable and scenic.
    • Note again: you will go uphill toward Campo de Santa Clara.

⚠️ Tips & Warnings

  • Bring cash: Not all vendors accept cards.
  • Be mindful of pickpockets, especially when using Tram 28.
  • The market is near São Vicente de Fora Church and the National Pantheon, so it’s a good idea to combine a visit with those sights.
